Winery Spotlight #4- Inniskillin

Inniskillin
-First Okanagan winery
Story: Part of Vincor, who also own Nk’Mip, Jackson Triggs and others
Inniskillin is originally an Ontario winery, who expanded to the Okanagan. They are also the largest winery we plan to visit. At this point I was keeping tasting notes and record of all the wines we tried. Keep in mind that the further I go into the okanagan this day, the less clear the wineries will become to you. That's really just an excuse to go try them yourself in my mind.
The wines:
We tried inniskillin’s entire tasting profile, six wines.
Sangiovese- Nice but not memorable
Tempranillo-Interesting that they are doing this in the Okanagan, uncommon and well done
Petit Verdot- Again, nothing extremely interesting
Marsanne Roussane- Really a bad wine I thought, I wouldn't even sell this to my enemies
Chenin Blanc- Quite nice
Tempranillo Icewine- Super good icewine, heavily awarded and with good reason, this is a really uncommon grape in the okanagan, and then a really uncommon grape to do icewine with. That is now a surprise because the end result here was extraordinary.
