Winery Spotlight #6- Tinhorn Creek

Tinhorn Creek-
Story- no story as such, big winery with really low price points, not much craftsmanship but interesting people who work there. We were tended to by an adventure tourism specialist who works wine during the summer. Keep in mind everything here is made to be cheap, so very little oak in the wines and low cellar time before release. We only went here because it is on the way, it is huge, and we haven't visited a 'people's winery' yet.
Wines-
Chardonnay- Not a remarkable wine, but they have a couple different chards here, so maybe the others are better. They also have a 2Bench white, which is grapes from two of their growing benchs blended together, didn't try it but maybe another grape would round out the chard? I don't know enough about wine to be qualified to say that, but it's my blog and I can do whatever I want.
Gewurz- Not too enjoyable a wine, I thought it was pretty far off the mark
Merlot-Old fields- made with the oldest vines on the property only, nice merlot and my favourite wine here.
Merlot- Reserve-definite drop in quality from the old fields merlot but not a bad product. Table wine for sure. She said it was still to "tight" to serve, and that if it was cellared for a bit longer it would be a better wine.
Kerner late harvest- too sweet, almost saccharine and coating your teeth.
